The Ministry of Health has announced that the third Vanuatu Health Research Symposium will be held the 26th to 28th of October 2022 in Luganville.

MULTI-COUNTRY MONKEYPOX OUTBVREAK SITUATION UPDATE, July 2022

The Ministry of Health would like to provide an update on the multi-country Monkeypox outbreak reported recently in the media. On July 23, the Director-General of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of Monkeypox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

Leptospirosis Press Release No.2 27 July 2022

The Ministry of Health would like to update the public on the current leptospirosis situation in Vanuatu. FRom 24th May 2022 to 27 July, 9 (nine) new confirmed cases have been reported to the National Surveillance Unit: Seven (7) cases reported in Sanma Province and two (2) which brings the total to 41 cases of Leptospirosis reported in 2022.

Influenza outbreak in Vanuatu, Situation report No.2 27 July 2022.

The Ministry of Health would like to update on the Influenza-Like-Illness (ILI) cases in Vanuatu. From 11 to 17 July, the National Surveillance unit recorded 362 Influenza like Illness cases. The Number of new cases decreased nationally by 43% from the previous week.

Ciguatera Fish Poisoning- Press Release No.1_27 July 2022

The Ministry of Health would like to update the public on the current Ciguatera Fish Poisoning situation in Vanuatu. From 1st January to 17th July 2022, a total of 32 ciguatera fish poisoning have been reported to the National Surveillance Unit. Twenty- three in Penama, six (6) in Malampa and three (3) in Shefa Province. No death had been reported so far.
